중동서 코믹콘 개최···‘왕좌의 게임’ ‘터미네이터’ 출연배우 등 참석

[아시아엔=라드와 아시라프 기자·번역 최정아 기자] 제5회 중동 영화&코믹콘(Middle East Film & Comic con)이 오는 4월7~9일 3일간 아랍에미레트(UAE) 두바이에서 개최된다. 이번 코믹콘에선 영화와 만화팬들에게 큰 인기를 얻고있는 게스트들이 초대돼 관심이 매우 뜨겁다.
이번 중동 코믹콘엔 세계적으로 열풍을 불러 일으키고 있는 미국 드라마 <왕좌의 게임>에서 제이미 라니스터 역을 맡은 니코라즈 코스터 왈다우가 이번 행사에 참석할 예정이다. 또한 <터미네이터> <케이프맨> 등 액션물에서 여전사 역을 맡은 섬머 글루, <포켓몬스터> <유희왕> 등 인기 일본 애니메이션에서 매력있는 목소리 연기를 선보인 인기성우 베로니카 테일러, 스탠 리 마블코믹스 명예회장, 배우 크리스토퍼 로이드 등 만화·영화계 스타들이 대거 초대됐다.
또한 세계적인 그래픽 아티스트 시몬 레그노, 만화 <데드풀> 작가 에디 눈즈 등도 자리를 빛낼 예정이다.
행사 주최측은 “이번 코믹콘 예매율이 매우 높다”며 “목표치인 방문객 7만명을 달성할 것으로 보인다. 이번 행사의 하이라이트는 ‘스타와 함께’코너다. 관객들은 Q&A섹션을 통해 스타들과 함께 대화를 나눌 수 있다”고 밝혔다.
Middle East Film & Comic con announces their A-list guests
Middle East Film & Comic con announced their second wave of A-list guests for comics and movies lovers. The con returns for its fifth year in 7th April and is expected to run until 9th April 2016, and the guest list they announced so far is garnering attention. The con is close to achieving its goal of 70000 visitors as the tickets selling fast.
Their celebrity guests list includes Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, widely known for playing Jaime Lannister, one of the most complex characters in the HBO mega-hit series Game of Thrones; Summer Glau known for her portrayal of strong and dynamic female characters like River Tam (Firefly / Serenity), Cameron (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), and Isabel Rochev (Arrow); Veronica Taylor who’s best known for voices roles in “Pokemon”,“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, and “Yu-Gi-Oh!”among other; Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, and many other fictional characters; Christopher Lloyd who’s best known for his roles as Emmet “Doc” Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, and WWE Champion Randy Orton.
The guest list includes more, such as international artists like Simone Legno, the mind behind tokidoki trademark, Eddie Nunez who brought Deadpool to life, also many international gamers and cosplayers, in addition to regional guests from the Middle East.
Some of the highlights of the three-day con are “Meet the Stars” sections where audience will be able to engage in a Q&A with the celebrity guests,” Cine Club” which would give them the chance to get a glimpse of exclusive trailers and footage, workshops in different fields such as animation, game development, acting, scriptwriting and others; as well as, a number of cosplay contests and musical performances.
The con is targeting a wide range of entertainment lovers as they divided the arena into a number of sections, as “Games Zone” will feature a number of board games tournaments, demonstrations, and workshops; “Manga Town” is going to feature international and regional artists and publishers, as well as a signing area; similar to that is the “Comics Village” which is really loved by the con audience; and “Artists Valley” will focus more on the talents of regional artists from the Middle East to showcase their works.
