에르도안 터키 대통령 아들, 314억원 비자금 ‘돈세탁’ 정황 나타나

한편 2014년2월 터키에선 “에르도안이 아들 비라이에게 현금 3천만 유로(약 314억원)를 건냈다”는 측근의 목소리가 담긴 녹취파일이 폭로돼 큰 논란을 일으킨 바있다. 당시 에르도안은 비자금 혐의를 부인했다.
A Lawsuit against Erdogan’s son for money laundering in Italy
?According to Turkish news agency Cihan, Bilal Erdogan, the son of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is facing claims of money laundering in Italy.
Italian businessman Murat Hakan Uzan, an exiled political opponent of Erdogan, came forward with a complaint on Bilal’s activities to investigate a purported “getaway operation” from Turkey to Italy, after claiming that he’s involved in a high scale money laundering. According to Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera” the lawyer of another businessman, Masimiliano Anita, filed a complaint to Bolognia’s jurisdiction to investigate the president’s son’s money.
Leaked tapes emerged in February 2014 of Erdogan allegedly telling Bilal to dispose of some 30 million euros ($37 million) in cash. Erdogan has dismissed the recordings as a “vile montage”.
Uzan’s petition stated that Bilal flew into Italy with a “large sum of money” and a team of armed bodyguards who were denied entry before swiftly being assigned Turkish diplomatic passports, according to Italian media reports.
Bilal Erdogan moved from Turkey to Italy’s Bolognia in October 2015 with his family to pursue his studies and get his PhD in international relations at the School of Advanced International Studies from John Hopkins University. Nevertheless, he was accused by anti-government personals of fleeing the country in fear of other corruption scandals breaking out.
The 35-year old was one of the main protagonists implicated in corruption allegations that exploded in December 2013 against the president’s inner circle and were denied by Erdogan, according to ANSA news agency.
