[아시아엔=글·사진 알리레자 바라미 ‘Asre Rowshan’ 편집인, ISNA 전 편집장] 히틀러는 독일의 총리였다. 그는 세계를 지배하길 원했다. 서쪽에서 동쪽으로 이어지는 거대한 제국을 건설하고자 했다. 그런 이유로 그는 다른 나라들을 공격했다. 그 결과 수백만 명이 목숨을 잃었다. 동시에 그는 유대인을 증오했다. 그로 인해 많은 유대인을 살해했다. 이 일이 이스라엘 정권이 세워지는 명분이 되었다. 그들의 고향, 곧 그들의 성경에서 언급된 땅인 팔레스타인에 말이다.그때부터 무슬림과 유대인 간의 전쟁은 수천 명의 사망자를 낳았다. 실제로 하나의 집단학살을 보상한다는 명목으로 또 다른 집단학살이 자행된 셈이다.
오늘날 독일은 히틀러의 사상에 동의하지 않는다는 점을 보여주려 하고 있다. 그래서 독일 언론에서는 거의 모든 주제를 질문하고 비판할 수 있다. 단, 홀로코스트는 예외다. 제2차 세계대전 당시 독일 총리 히틀러가 주도한 유대인 집단학살 프로젝트 말이다.
2주 전, 이스라엘이 이란을 공격했을 때 독일 총리는 이스라엘의 행동을 지지했다. 독일은 프랑스, 영국과 함께 이란과의 외교 협상 당사국 중 하나였다. 그러나 이스라엘이 이란을 공격하자, 그는 이렇게 말했다. “나는 이스라엘을 비판할 수 없다. 왜냐하면 이스라엘이 우리를 대신해 ‘더러운 일’을 해줬기 때문이다.”
이 발언은 서방 언론에서도 큰 비판을 받았다. 많은 이들은 이 발언이 현재의 독일 총리 역시 인종차별적 사고를 가지고 있다는 것을 보여줬다고 본다. 이 표현은 본래 계급적으로 열등한 존재에 대해 쓰이는 말이기 때문이다.
이번 공격으로 600명 이상의 이란인이 사망했다. 오늘날 프리드리히 메르츠 독일 총리는 80~90년 전 히틀러가 앉았던 바로 그 자리에 앉아 있다.
아프가니스탄은 이란과 육로로 긴 국경을 맞댄 이웃 국가다. 미국이 수년간의 주둔 끝에 아프가니스탄을 떠난 뒤, 탈레반이 이 나라의 정권을 다시 잡았다. 이로 인해 많은 아프간 시민들이 난민이 되었다. 그중 돈이 있고 대학 학위가 있던 이들은 유럽, 캐나다, 미국, 호주로 떠났다. 하지만 지난 2~3년간 다수의 아프간 이주민들이 이란으로 왔다. 그들 중 많은 수가 불법적으로 이란에 입국했다.
이스라엘이 이란을 공격하던 기간, 드론 공격이 다수 발생했다. 여러 명이 체포되었는데, 이들은 이스라엘의 드론 공격을 돕고 있었다. 이들 중 상당수는 불법 체류 중인 아프간 이주민이었다.
현재 휴전이 진행되면서, 이란 내에서는 반(反)아프간 감정이 커지고 있다. 많은 이들이 아프간인들의 이란 내 체류에 항의하고 있다. 그러나 그들이 왜 이란에 오게 되었는지를 돌아보는 이는 거의 없다. 이는 이전 이란 정부의 잘못된 정책의 결과였다. 이전 에브라힘 라이시 대통령은 극우 정당 출신이었고, 어떤 이유에서인지 아프간인의 유입을 용인했다. 헬기 사고로 그 대통령이 사망한 이후 해당 정책은 중단되었지만, 여전히 수많은 아프간인들이 이란 내에 머물고 있다. 하지만 그들의 이란 체류는 불법이다. 그들 또한 정치인들의 정책에 희생된 존재들이다. 이란 체류 아프간인들에 대한 모든 대우는 원칙적이고 합법적이어야 하며, 인도적 기준 또한 반드시 고려돼야 한다.
러시아의 한 남성이 모스크바 공항에서 2살짜리 아프간 아이를 공격하는 영상을 본 적 있는가? 그 장면은 매우 충격적이었다. 언론 보도에 따르면 아이는 병원에서 혼수상태에 빠졌고 생존 여부도 불투명했다. 정말 끔찍한 일이었다. 인종차별적 사고가 사람들을 이런 상태로 몰아넣는 것이다.
인종주의는 전쟁을 일으키고 사람을 죽인다. 언론은 인종주의 사고에 맞서 싸울 책임이 있다.
평화는 곧 인간성(휴매니티)이며, 인간성이란 전쟁에 반대하는 것이다!
War and Racism-Report on the Second Day of the Ceasefire in Tehran, After the Israeli Attack

Hitler was the Chancellor of Germany. He wanted to rule the world and build a vast empire stretching from the West to the East. To achieve this goal, he launched attacks on other countries, causing the deaths of millions. At the same time, he harbored deep hatred toward the Jews, leading to the mass killing of many of them.
This historical tragedy later served as the justification for the establishment of the Israeli regime in their so-called homeland, as mentioned in their Holy Bible — namely, Palestine. Since then, the conflict between Muslims and Jews has resulted in thousands of deaths. In fact, it can be argued that to compensate for one genocide, another was initiated.
In recent years, Germany has attempted to distance itself from Hitler’s ideology. For this reason, it is possible to question almost anything in the German press — except the Holocaust (the systematic genocide of Jews during World War II, orchestrated by Hitler, the then-Chancellor of Germany).
Two weeks ago, when Israel launched an attack on Iran, the German Chancellor publicly supported Israel’s actions. Germany, along with France and the United Kingdom, had been one of the parties involved in diplomatic negotiations with Iran. However, following the Israeli strike, the Chancellor said, “I cannot criticize Israel for this, because Israel did the dirty work for us.”
This statement was widely criticized in Western media. Many believe it revealed that the current German Chancellor also holds racist views, as such a phrase is typically used to refer to those considered inferior. Over 600 Iranians were killed in that attack. It is worth noting that the current German Chancellor occupies the same office that Hitler held 80 to 90 years ago.

Afghanistan shares a long land border with Iran. After the United States withdrew from Afghanistan and the Taliban returned to power, many Afghan citizens fled the country. Those who had financial means and university degrees emigrated to Europe, Canada, the United States, and Australia.
Over the past two to three years, a large number of Afghans have immigrated to Iran — many of them entering the country illegally. During the recent Israeli attacks on Iran, the scale of drone strikes was significant. Several individuals were arrested for assisting Israel in these drone operations, and a notable portion of them were undocumented Afghan immigrants.
Now that the ceasefire is in effect, anti-Afghan sentiment is rising within Iran. Many are protesting the presence of Afghans in the country. However, few are acknowledging the fact that their migration was largely the result of flawed policies by the previous Iranian administration. That president, affiliated with a far-right party, had allowed the influx of Afghans for undisclosed reasons. After his death in a helicopter crash, that policy was halted. Nevertheless, many Afghans still remain in Iran without legal status. They too are victims of political decisions, and any action taken toward them must be both lawful and principled, keeping humanitarian standards in mind.
Did you see the video of a Russian man attacking a two-year-old Afghan child at Moscow Airport? It was truly horrifying. Media reports said the child fell into a coma and might not survive. It was deeply disturbing. This is what racist thinking leads to.
Racism starts wars and kills people.
The media has a responsibility to confront racist ideologies.
Peace means humanity — and humanity means saying no to war.
