나는 당신이 가방에 희망을 가득 넣어가기를 바랍니다. 고난과 마주했을 때 딛고 일어날 수 있는 힘을 줄 아름다웠던 기억들이 함께했으면 합니다. 탄생의 순간부터 마음 깊이 사랑했던 기억들. 나에 한정해 말하면 아시아기자협회에 함께 한 이후 혹은 이전까지도 나의 어둠을 밝혀 줬던 기억들. 그 모든 순간들을 차곡히 담아 삶에 지칠 때마다 들여다볼 여유가 있기를 소망합니다.

여행가방 안에 희망을 담으셨다면, 소중한 가족들을 위한 자리도 남겨 주세요. 신은 당신에게 오랫동안 홀로 견뎌야 할 고독의 시간을 주었습니다. 홀로 집에서 식사하고, 일하고, 신문을 읽고…. 그러나 당신이 가족으로부터 멀리 떨어진다 한들, 가족들과의 사랑과 추억은 결코 사라지지 않을 것입니다. 늘 나의 마음을 지켜 주었던 소중한 가족들과의 추억을 2021년의 여행길에서도 되새긴다면 좋겠습니다.

우리는 평화를 향한 소망을 지니고 있는 동시에, 서로를 향한 사랑과 관심 역시 필요한 세상에 공존하고 있습니다. 여행가방 안에 자신을 향한 사랑의 마음도 잊지 말고 넣어 보세요. 그 사랑들을 위해 모두와 함께 나아갈 준비를 하세요. 항상 웃는 얼굴과 감사하는 마음, 그리고 신뢰를 당신의 마음 속에 간직하세요. 그 마음들이 모여 2021년의 여행길을 든든하게 지켜 줄 것입니다.

우리는 먼 거리를 가로질러 만날 수 있을 만큼 발전한 과학기술 덕분에 서로의 부재를 지켜줄 수 있었습니다. 그로 인해 우리는 지리적·정치적 제한과 종교·언어·민족성의 차이를 인정하는 민주주의를 실천했고, 조국의 불행과 친구들의 부재에 대해 서로를 위로하며 힘을 북돋아 주었습니다.

새해에는 눈부신 과학발전의 산물인 온라인 소통을 통해, 그 어느 때보다도 서로를 잊지 않고 연결해주는 일이 중요합니다. 이제는 개개인에 머무르는 것이 아닌 아시아, 더 나아가 전 세계에 걸쳐 수십, 수백명의 목소리가 퍼져나가야 할 때입니다. 더 많은 플랫폼을 통해 다양한 사람들의 진실한 외침을 들어야 합니다.

아시아기자협회는 인스타그램 계정 개설을 통해 우리를 더 알릴 기회를 확장시켰습니다. 우리는 매일 세계 각지의 사람들에게 의미 있게 다가갈 수 있는 사진을 공유하고 있습니다. 페이스북에서는 제시된 주제들을 기반으로 의견을 나누며 소통하고 있습니다. 여러분이 페이스북 페이지에 주제와 함께 관련 링크를 올려 주신다면 우리는 더욱 활발히 소통을 하며 가까워질 것입니다.

코로나로 인해 우리는 해외로 나갈 수 없게 됐습니다. 여행객의 신분으로는 환영받을 수 없는 처지에 놓였습니다. 그러나 우리는 각자 우리 조국의 곳곳을 여행할 수 있습니다. 전에 가보지 못한 곳들을 둘러보고, 처음 경험하는 것들을 탐구할 수 있는 기회가 남아 있습니다.

당신이 겪게 될 아름답고도 놀라운 경험에 대해 이야기해 주세요. 우리가 여행을 마치고 돌아올 때, 하늘이 다시 열려 우리가 얼굴을 마주할 수 있게 될 때. 그날이 오기만을 소망하고 있는 오늘 역시 추억의 일부가 되게 되는 날에.

2021년은 각국 인사들 간의 관계를 공고히 하는 기회가 될 수 있을 것입니다. 아시아기자협회의 주도 하에 각국의 사람들을 만나 기쁜 일을 축하하며 감정을 나눌 수 있을 것입니다. 기쁜 현장 속에서 각국의 유명한 랜드마크를 배경 삼아 협회의 일대기, 웹사이트, 잡지, 포럼, 여행을 통해 배운 것들을 혹은 기사로 혹은 유튜브로 만든다면 독자들에게 좋은 정보를 주는 동시에 그들의 큰 관심을 끌 수 있을 것입니다.

You are now traveling to 2021, and you have to prepare your travel bag, which will help you in the coming days, so what will you put in it?

I suggest that you take hope, for you will need it to resist difficult times, and do not forget the beautiful memories, allocate a place for them, whether those memories you have loved since your birth, since you joined the Asia Journalist Association, or even those that have lit up the darkness of the last year, these beautiful memories will be your goods that you will exchange for; when life is hard on you.

Allocate a huge place in your travel bag to 2021 for the family; God has given you the opportunity to be at home most of the time, to eat, work online, write your reports, read your newspapers, all of that while you are at home, remember that you were doing that away from the family, and the opportunity for lockdown and closure came to create a space for you beside them, let it be a warm space filled with love and understanding. We are in a world where we need love and understanding, as we want peace with strength.

Take, in your travel bag, the best qualities you know about yourself. Be prepared to work with everyone for everyone. Always keep a smile on your face, contentment in your heart, and seriousness in your hands and mind.

We were able to overcome the ordeal of absence, thanks to technology that gave us the ability to meet across distances. We practiced democracy that did not recognize geographic boundaries, political obstacles, differences of religion, language and ethnicity, and we shared the consolation of each other about the misfortunes of the homeland, the absences of friends. We comforted friends, and supported each other.

In the new year we need each other more than ever before, we need one or more projects for us to meet and gather for. It is time for us to speak not as individuals, but as tens or hundreds spread across Asia and the world, and for our voices to be heard through more platforms.Voices that support the truth, and fight the falsehood and fake news:

– The association’s Instagram account has started, and it is an opportunity to provide it with a picture. Each of us sends one picture every day, an image meaning something to him and the world, and represents his message to friends and followers.

– On Facebook, friends, members are kindly invited to open the links to the posted topics and write their comments, or put these links on your pages to achieve greater popularity.

– If we were prevented from traveling outside our homelands, after the airports stopped welcoming us, then let us travel to available places inside our countries , places that we have not visited before, and write about the surprises of the first meeting with those places, and tell us about the experience of that trip, because it may soon come to meet them, when Journeys return and the sky opens again.
– The year 2021 may be an opportunity to consolidate relations between members in each country separately, for members to meet in each country under the banner of the Asia Journalist Association, celebrate its next birthday, each in front of a famous landmark in the country, and perhaps you will meet icons from your homeland to tell them about the biography of the association, its members its website, its magazine, its conferences and the forums that were held, the personalities that we met on our trips, and these short interviews might be the nucleus of YouTube if filmed.
– The bag may be large, but a small bag will suffice that includes a loving heart, a smiling face, a hand patting others’ shoulders, and an idea for the future.
